What is Momentum?
Momentum is a Triumphant Lutheran Church event that will enable our entire congregation to go through Financial Peace University (FPU) at the same time! Most of you know that our church has been teaching FPU (a 13 week class) for the past three years by offering the course once a week. Many lives have been touched through this process, but now we are ready to jump into FPU in a most significant way by offering a multitude of classes beginning the week of January 10, 2010. We will have:
- Classes immediately following each Sunday church service
- Classes during the week day
- Classes during the evening

- Monday 6:30pm-8:30pm Cathy Harm
- Tuesday 9am-11am Pastor Bill Irons
- Thursday 6:30pm-8:30pm Rob Crow
Our goal is to create our own Momentum by having 80% of our members participate in FPU simultaneously.
What Momentum is Not!
Momentum is not a stewardship campaign, at least not in the way that we traditionally think of them.
It is not a way to solicit major donations from wealthy church members nor is it a plan to “guilt” members into pledges or increased giving. Rather, Momentum is a plan to revolutionize the way we manage God’s assets in our personal lives. What we are about is changing people's lives, not just their money habits or their giving.
Momentum at Triumphant!
Throughout the month of November, you will hear much about Momentum! Our intention is to provide you with all the necessary information you need and to answer any questions you might have. Our intention is also to help everyone see, understand, and embrace the power that this program can provide for our congregation. Imagine the possibilities as we all embark on the same journey together, regardless of where we each stand personally today!
The Momentum Steering Team consists of Pastor Irons, Rob Crow, Cathy Harm, and Barbara Wade.
We are also forming six additional teams designed to drive the program to success. Teams include Prayer, Promotions, Education, Celebration, Special Ops, and Strategic Tracking. Two teams have begun their formation and work. They include:
Prayer Team: Suzi Malone, Lori O’Berg and Bonnie Vordenbaum.
Promotions Team: Tracey Blackwell (Team Leader), Mellissa Zipp, Debbie Roberts, Cathy Harm, Curtis Herbsleb, and Jennifer Hersleb.
Soon, we will be posting the specific purpose of each team. If you are interested in joining a team, please contact one of the Steering Team or Promotions Team members. We’d love to have you!
