MOTHER'S DAY OUT

MDO is an outreach ministry to the surrounding community and we welcome all children up to age 5.  Our program has been touching “little people's” lives for over twenty years.

The purpose of our MDO program is to help the preschool child grow in his/her learning ability and social awareness through his/her relationship with caring and understanding adults and will other children his/her own age.  The infant and toddler child will be introduced to other children his/her own age and to adults who will love and nurture him/her other than his/her own parents.  Our primary concern is to provide a caring Christian environment in which the children learn about Jesus and God's world and where the children can learn to work, play and share with their peers.

CURRICULUM:  Age-appropriate learning, ABC's, 123's, color recognition, chapel time, story time, outside play, riding toys, sand box, art projects, special events, and more!

CLASSES AVAILABLE:
Nursery    Infants age 6 weeks to 24 months old
2 year olds    Children 24 to 35 months old
3 year olds    Children 36 to 47 months old
4 year olds    Children 48 to 60 months old

SCHEDULE:    Mondays and Wednesdays:  11:30am - 4:30pm

TUITION & FEES:
Yearly Registration Fee:  $10 non-refundable, due at registration
Supply Fees:  $10 due in September and January
Tuition:      One child -- $8 per day
        Two or more children -- $7 per day per child
Tuition is due by 15th of current month or a late fee will be assessed.

Preschool

 Triumphant Lutheran Preschool is a State Certified School. It is our desire to provide a safe and exciting educational environment for your child in which to learn and interact. We strive to prepare your child for kindergarten by working with the alphabet, numbers, colors and shapes. We also try to enhance their learning experience by teaching through specific themes each month. Your participation in your child’s education is encouraged and we invite you to join us for special family occasions like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, our Thanksgiving Program and Feast and, of course, our Graduation Ceremony.

PRESCHOOL STAFF

Kristin Miller:  TLC Preschool Director and teaches the Tues/Thurs/Fri classes with Ms. Laurie.  She holds a B.S. in Physical Education and Elementary Education from Western Michigan University.  She began her teaching career in San Antonio before joining the staff at our preschool.  She has been Preschool Director since 2006.

 Karla Ledum:  Teaches the 3-year-old classes.  She holds a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota and Minot State University.  She has taught kindergarten in many states due to Air Force moves around the country.  She and her husband have 5 girls and she has been with Triumphant Preschool since 2005.

 Susan Soeth:  Teaches the 4-year-old classes.  She earned her CDA (Child Development Associate) while she and her husband were stationed in Hawaii with the Army.  She then worked for a Phoenix-area Lutheran preschool for 2 ½ years before moving to the San Antonio area.  She has been teaching preschool children since 1997.  She and her husband have a son and a daughter. 

 Laurie Gordon:  Teaches Triumphant Lutheran’s Tues/Thurs/Fri class with Ms. Kristin.  She began as our classroom aide in 2006 and is currently working toward her CDA (Child Development Associate) to better prepare herself for working with preschool age children in a learning environment.  She and her husband have 3 children.

Curriculum:  Chapel Time, Centers, Story Time, Circle Time, Music Time, Outside Play, Riding Toys, Sandbox, Art Projects, Special Events, and more!

Lunch Buddies:  Offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 – 1:30.  In order to participate, children must be enrolled for the entire year.  Your child will need to bring a sack lunch.  We will spend the time after lunch doing additional learning through play, more outside time and having more fun being kids!!

The supply fee is to help pay for glue, paper, markers, photo processing, etc.  This fee will also help cover the cost of a daily snack for your child.  We will no longer ask that you bring snack on an assigned day; snacks will be covered by your supply fee.  Your child will be able to bring a special birthday snack and we will ask that you help provide additional snacks on special “party days.”
 
We are hoping that our additional classroom space will open by January 2009.  This should open up some additional spots in some of the classrooms and will provide the opportunity to add more classes mid-year.
 
All students at TLP must be potty-trained.  Children must be able to use the bathroom with little assistance.  Accidents happen, but unfortunately we are not equipped to change diapers.  Children should not come to preschool in diapers.  For more information, please send an email from the home page of this website or contact Kristin Miller, Director, at (210) 651-9090.

CHILDREN’S CHAPEL

 Children’s Chapel is a program for 3-7 year olds.  During the 8:30am and 11:00am services, the children go to the front of the sanctuary to hear the Children’s Sermon and then are guided from the sanctuary by the Teacher of the Day.  The Teacher of the Day is one of 8 regular Children’s Chapel teachers.  The children hear their own bible story and discuss the age-appropriate message while the congregation listens to Pastor’s Sermon.  The children are then lead back to the sanctuary to join the congregation for the rest of the service.
